Things I love....about FALL!

Me enjoying a caramel apple cider circa 2007

I was inspired by my post yesterday and you might find some repeat loves but honestly. I keep realizing how much I LOVE fall. Even if it's wet and mucky here in Seattle.

1.all things pumpkin. pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin bread, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin straight up.
2. caramel apple cider at Starbucks. It's my hot drink. Double chocolate chip creme frappuchino is my cold drink.
3. not sweating in my jeans. I am a jeans girl. I love a good pair of jeans. Unfortunately summer weather makes them sticky and uncomfortable. I love when fall comes around and they keep me the perfect temperature.
4. shaving my legs is no longer a necessity. Gross? Probably. But honestly I hate shaving. It seems so silly since my hair is blonde anyway. I shave before church every sunday since I show my legs at church but the rest of the week is unnecessary.
5.costumes. I love figuring out who I will be for Halloween. It's more fun when you have a boy who could care less and you can dress up! Ok so I wish he was a little more enthusiastic but still.
6. rosy cheeks. I love the tan summer look but I crave when I can put a little rosy blush on my cheeks and get that cold winter look. It's even better when it happens naturally!
7.squash! I love when squash is regularly on our plate in the fall. It's so delicious.
8.Pumpkin Patches! I get to go with Isabella and the nanny group and am SO excited! Farm animals and fun games galore! It reminds me of my days working on the farm.
9. my favorite shows start up again! Glee, Grey's Anatomy, and 30 Rock are amazing! Unfortunately ABC decided to cancel the second season of Flashforward which was the BEST show ever. UGH!
10. Snuggling up with my hubby! Summer makes snuggling slightly uncomfortable but the chilly weather keeps us close. I just love that feeling!

Ideas for Halloween costumes?
-Alice in Wonderland and the madhatter? Rabbit?
-ww2 nurse and soldier?
-wendy and peter pan?

Opinions? Ideas? What do you think?

My loves...

I never revealed the results of my boot search and as I know you were all desperately clicking refresh for the past 4 weeks to find the result, I finally decided to reveal the winners.

My mother convinced me (ok so zero convincing was involved) to get the Frye top of the line boots. I must say they are my current obsession. I wear them as much as possible and they are annoyingly comfortable. Ok so not annoying at all : )

I keep imagining beautiful fall and winter outfits. I love fall. I love the summer sun fading into the crisp air and all the hues of the world changing. It just seems so warm and lovely in the fall.

Except in Seattle.

Fall in Seattle is wet and gray and makes you want to curl up in a ball and hibernate until April.

But I can't wait for Fall when we move to our new destination. Because it will either be in Easter Washington, Montana, or Utah. All of which have beautiful fall weather.

I shall dream of it tonight.

Some say find someone just like you, some say opposites attract. Obviously it's not one or the other. But this is my perspective of my relationship with this man:

I would probably place us largely in the opposites attract category. But I think many people would say that we are very much alike.

Kyle is a lover of sports, he is a super science nerd, he likes things clean on the surface, saves money very well and never procrastinates.

I am a lover of entertainment. I love television, blogs, movies, reading. Mainly these involve sitting on a couch. I was an English Lit major (took the minimum number of science classes), I don't mind things being messy as long as there is order (sometimes this order is an order only I understand...), I spend money really well and procrastinate to the last moment.

Kyle and I both are extremely outgoing, we both have solid testimonies of the gospel, and we both agree on what is important in life.

We want our own family. We have hopes for our children that we were never able to enjoy. We will raise them with the blessings of the gospel without them taking it for granted. Our priorities match.

Our differences strengthen us. Sure we can get on each others nerves (when he cleans I can never find anything I need and when I do find something it is in the oddest place). I slow him down and help him rest. He picks me up and gets me going when I am feeling lazy (ok so I am a lot better at getting him to rest than him getting me to run...).

Our relationship is symbiotic. We have a mutual love and it is used to strengthen one another. Its wonderful really.

I am a lucky girl.

Are your relationships symbiotic? How so? What does your guy or girl get you to do?

Our trip to Utah. *Warning picture overload*

It will take far too long to comment on all of these pictures. I am sorry to burden you with the awesomeness that is Utah. Kyle and I really hope to be moving down to SLC in the spring (for PT school). We had fun with my 16 year old brother for his birthday (he decorated his own cake much to the dismay of my littlest sister), hung out with lots of friends, tasted of the bounty that is Utah (friends and food), and learned we had some new skills (I rock at pool by the way).

Oh and yes that is a orange usambara starburst tarantula that got out of its cage twice. It eats birds and is crazy fast. I will never own a tarantula for a pet.

Utah has been delightful.

We are staying with the BEST people. (Thornton's rock!)

We have had some crazy times. (bird killing tarantula gets loose TWICE!)

We have eaten new foods. (there are In and Outs in Utah now!)

I have gotten some new cute modest clothes (take that immodesty!)

Seen our wonderful, magnificent friends.

I don't want to leave. Can't we just live her already....

I have a problem speaking.

The problem is, it is all in my brain.

When I speak I tend to be VERY repetitious...to the point where people interrupt me, stop listening, or think that I am annoying.

I have been talking to the boy about this. Mainly because he has to deal with the brunt of my repetition.

Turns out when I speak it sounds as if I think that everyone around me is stupid.

Again sorry.

It is actually the complete opposite.

I do not trust my own thoughts. When I speak I feel as if I am the stupid one and so I try to explain as accurately as possible what I am thinking. Usually it ends up that I say the same thing over and over.

Oy vey.

So I am trying to fix this problem in my head. The problem when my thoughts get all jumbled and I tell a story but I forget one detail so I tell the story again with the detail in it that time.

How do you fix the way you speak?

Strange Happenings and Pursuits in Passion

Lately I have had some peculiar sleeping occurences. These are all from Kyle's memory as I have no clue whether they actually happened.

Our bed is placed against a wall and Kyle sleeps next to the wall. One night he went to get some water and climbed over me. Apparently I began clapping. Strange? Definitely.

On Sunday we were both exhausted and Kyle decided to take a nap. I came down about 30 min later. He was on my side of the bed and I was so tired I wanted him to move. So I told him to move. He thought I was being ridiculous and told me to just climb over him. I did and then stated sarcastically "what a good husband you are." Tired Gina is not super nice...

Then 30 minutes later. I sit up. Look at Kyle and strongly state "STOP SLEEPING!" throw his hands off the bed. Kyle also being tired got mad and left to finish his nap on the couch.

What the heck is going on with my sleeping patterns? I have no recollection of the clapping or forcing Kyle to "stop sleeping."

Oh boy...

On another note I have been doing what I said I would do. I am attempting to find my passion. I took a sewing class and made a cute bag. It's easy when someone is there to guide you along the way....

Then I attempted to make my own dress.

I am nuts.

So far the pieces are cut out.

I am scared to sew it.

Maybe I should have taken smaller baby steps.

I feel like I just jumped off a cliff.

Maybe someday you will see this dress.

For now I am off to Utah! Maybe I will blog maybe not....

p.s. my mom bought the nice nordstrom dream boots. they are so so so lovely and very perfect!

The boot dilemma

This weekend I will be buying a pair of boots. On the list of things I wanted a DSLR camera was No. 1 and boots were No. 2. My mom usually takes me shopping for my birthday so I figured it would be a good time to get some boots.

Now there are many many many types of boots. Booties, over-the-knee, high-heeled, the list goes on.

I want a pair of boots that hit right below the knee, 1in heel, brown, and classic. Basically a riding boot. I don't want a bunch of buckles or whatever and I want to pull them on. No zipper. I have a pair of zipper boots and I HATE that stinkin' zipper.

So the dilemma?

Boots are expensive. Well some are. While reading a favorite blog of mine sensiblystyled.com I saw a pair of boots that fits most of my desires.
It's only $40!!!!! Say what? That is crazy talk. The problems? Well its a shoe from target.... they don't tend to be the highest quality. Supposedly it is real leather, very thin real leather. I just don't think it will last for as long as I want it to. I mean I want a boot that goes the distance and is comfortable. I don't think target tends to deliver on that in the shoe section very much.... Sorry target.

Ok so where else can I get boots? DSW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this store. Although it is COMPLETELY overwhelming going inside. I mean I like shoes like the rest of them but there are so many. You have to know what you want when you go in that store. I want boots. This is what I found that I love.

These are three boots I would probably wear. The last one is suede which is a BAD idea for Seattle but really I will only be in Seattle until March.... The first one is a little too...slouchy. I want more structure. the middle one is super cute but not exactly high enough. I would definitely wear it though. Prices? $80, $140, and $60 dollars respectively. I like DSW because you get the quality without the sticker shock. One hundred and forty dollars isn't so bad compared to what boots can cost. Seriously. Nordstroms has my IDEAL boots but they have UNREALISTIC prices.

Sigh.....I absolutely love these boots. I detest the price....$317. Gulp. Seriously. Why? Okay I get that it's quality leather, classic, and its a fancy brand. I want these. They have everything I want. Except a decent price. Another good boot I found was this:

This one is $187 dollars. Not as bad at 300. I'm not sold on the buckles but they are alright...

Is this boring you? I'm sorry if you didn't want to deliberate about boots but this is what I am thinking about today.

So what's your opinion? Go cheap? Moderate? Or just get exactly what I want? Let me know please.

Oh.. and technically it isn't going to be my money... but I also don't know if my mother will want to shell out $300 dollars. Plus I want to get more than a pair of boots.....

My life is hard...

That was a joke. I recognize that deciding on boots is a very trivial decision.
